MrMaycock.com The blog of a nineteen year old university student

10May/09

Well.

It appears that I have forgotten to blog this past week.

Maybe because it was just that uneventful.

Had a few highlights though.

Friday evening was just simply fabulous. For Sophie's Birthday Meal we ate in 95 High Green in Cannock. Lovely soup, lovely steak, lovely treacle tart. I might even go as far to say that it was divine. Good evening, anyway.

Also, have been allocated a room at Derby Halls. Which made me really happy. Room 3, Flat 6, Ground Floor, Peak Court. Exciting. =D

Actually, I think that was it.

Plenty of not so good things though. Another four hours of my ICT exam been and gone, even more C4 maths that I'm not totally following, the student finance application process, and having to appreciate that at the time of writing I have 883 hours until my last exam starts. Even worse is the fact that my first exam is in 183 hours time.

Yikes. I should get started with the revising.

Ah well, Sophie's party, Eurovision Semi-Finals 1 & 2, and the Eurovision Final in the next week. But then it's my first exam. Agh.

Oh well, three of my exams before half term, then half term, then I have a free week, then all of my exams within two weeks.

Then drinking, prom, Elliot Minor, my Open University deadline, and then university moving in itself.

Oh, as a side note, I like the word parallelly. I think it is fabulous.

Today was alright.

Had an ice cream.

Decided to download some new Lily Allen stuff.

About it.

Good times.

15Nov/08

It appears I did not watch Children in Need 2008.

As I fell asleep. Still, a good 15 hour sleep never did anybody any harm.

And I've got it recorded anyway, so I just need to watch it now. All seven hours and fifty minutes of it.

Yay for QI special, though.

Anyway, just got back from Staffordshire university open day. Looks quite a nice place, not too far from home either.

I wanna send my application off. =( Damn laziness of leaving personal statement too late.

Nice flapjacks, anyway.

Oh! I got one of the round highlighters that everyone ever (well, Add, Aimee and Matty) seem to have. Which is entirely awesome, in my opinion.

Another oh! Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is here. =) Which means sexy vehicle manipulation-ness. When I've finished the first, that is. Damn Stop 'n' Swop items.

A further oh! Tesco Clubcard vouchers. Some fun ones and some not so fun ones this time, though. Last time they were all like awesome, but I'm cool with these. Specifically, I have a Clubcard Points prize draw coupon, points when I buy: dougnuts, soft drinks and biscuits, 10p off a reusable bag, and 50p off any Trident Chewing Gum multipack. Some fun ones.

A final oh! Joe Brooks UK tour dates. I hope they're close to me, as I may just go by myself if no-one else wants to go. As his music is awesomeness defined.

Fin.

Musicc.

Well, iPods and Music.

I really do quite like the sexy colours on the new Nanos, plus I could match a tie to each. The Yellow/Orange/Purple one would be the one I'd buy, but I wouldn't, as my 3G is fine, and I want...

An iPod Touch. 8mm thick, speaker, touchscreen, Wi-Fi, games, applications, Nike + iPod support, music. As I really just wanted an iPhone for the speaker for the applications and the sexyness, an iPod with a speaker for the applications and the sexyness that's thinner than an iPhone and the fact that I care not for EDGE/3G is lushh.

Basically, I don't want an iPhone anymore, an iPod Touch will suffice, even though I hate my phone so much, it calls and texts.

It has therefore jumped to 3rd place in the list of expensive things that are quite expensive.

Anyway, actual music, not hardware, leads me to Apple Genius. I didn't see the point whilst reading the live blogs about the Apple event, it's actually quite functional if one's music library is big enough. Mine just about is. Which is quite good. Apart from the once when it paired lots of Lazytown with Coheed and Cambria. Bit of a genre difference there.

Aaaand finally I have decided to go through each of the 220 albums my library, and update stuff. Like genres, album names, album artists, artists, track names, album art, years of release. In one evening, I have gotten through 36 albums, which is quite fun.

Hmmyesss.

24Aug/08

Oh, more facts.

I have finally installed Windows XP. It took around 8 hours to sort out my problems.

I have completed 29 pages of C# 2008 for Dummies book, creating one program in the process.

I have added 181 songs from 16 different artists to my iTunes library.

I found out that Last.fm in Windows is much more functional than it is in Leopard.

I have changed the badges on my bag.

I have recorded 23 hours worth of television since we broke up from school five weeks ago.

I have gained 835 Gamerscore since we broke up from school five weeks ago.

I have upgraded Wordpress three times since we broke up from school five weeks ago.

I have baked cakes from three different kits, Dennis the Menace cupcakes, Mickey and Friends cupcakes, and Butterfly cupcakes. I have had the materials to make 34 cakes, yet produced only 31, as three Butterfly cakes fell out and burst whilst cooking.

I have been to Cannock four times, and Cannock Park three times. I have been to Birmingham and Stafford once. I have been to Lichfield five times, and Sutton Coldfield three times.

I have deleted 60 spam comments since we broke up from school five weeks ago. I am indifferent, spam is bad, traffic is good. I am also thankful for Akismet.

I have completed Half-Life, and finally completed Half-Life 2 Episode 2.

I have backed up 27 GB worth of content via two Time Machine backups since we broke up from school five weeks ago.

I have deleted 72 GB worth of content from my Mac from music, TV shows and general crap.

I have listened to 1193 songs since we broke up from school five weeks ago.

I have run out of things to write.

23Aug/08

Hmm, I should blog.

I love Braid.

I have a new bag. It is from GAP. I love it. It has badges on it.

I have so far watched 51 DVDs this summer holiday.

I spent 5 days cleaning my room.

I got my new Passport.

I got my Clubcard vouchers. I love them, as they are relevant to me. Liiike 25 Extra Points for spending £1.00 on sandwiches, 25 Extra Points for spending £1.00 on Biscuits, 25 Extra Points for spending £0.70 on Mineral Water, 10p off a Reusable Bag and £2.00 total spend voucher.

I have consumed £6.35 of Starbucks products. I did not enjoy £3.25 worth of it, thank god it was free.

I have burnt 2 DVDs and 3 CDs. One of them works.

I nearly bought tickets to a gig, it got cancelled. I am planning to buy tickets to three gigs, but I have no money.

I have currently been waiting for 7 weeks to get a positive result from my EMA application, which would have been solved if they hadn't lost my bank details.

I got some new jeans, some new shirts and some new t-shirts. I might buy a new tie.

I am now bored of writing things.

Hate is a strong word.

I feel detest is stronger so.

Therefore, I detest Reptilia by The Strokes.

Stupid vocal line - has taken me almost two hours to manage to complete the expert chart.

Never againnn.

You've got to love Q Entertainment.

How they can make your eyes bleed dry on so many music-y games is just amazing.

And has caused my eyes to be very blinky.

Damn Rez HD, Lumines Live! and Extend Every Extra Extreme.

Damn themmmm.

The day off school (numero uno)

Today's been quite exciting to be honest.

I've eaten some Oreos.
Done two physics past papers.
Done a chemistry past paper.
Created my (less Life, more RSS) Lifestream.
Done some stuff for the next stage of Young Enterprise.
Been for a pub meal.
Been to Asda.
Moved my finances around.
Found some people on social networks.
Did some Mario Kart Wii time trials.
Played some battles on the Chompy Chomp Chomp Chomp course over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and won, lots.
Done my daily quests on the Isle of Quel'Danas.
Found some new artists.
Downloaded some new music.

Broken heating = school day - chemistry coursework = exciting day.

Fwee.
